After the success of his drama The Descendants, Paramount is aiming to continue to pattern with Alexander Payne‘s Nebraska. Set for a Cannes Film Festival premiere, the black-and-white project will likely be a harder sell, but the studio has set a prime fall release date of November 22nd, 2013, where it will begin its limited run. Starring Bruce Dern and Will Forte, the film follows curmudgeonly old drunk who believes he’s won a million dollars from a sweepstakes and drags his son on a roadtrip to collect the prize.

In other release date news, Sony has locked in a June 6th, 2014 release date for a follow-up to last year’s hit comedy, 21 Jump Street. We got word earlier this week from Collider that we can expect to see most of our ensemble return, along with our original directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller. For this sequel, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum will head to college when production kicks off this fall.

Sony has also set Sex Tape, starring Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz, for a release on July 2nd, 2014. Directed by Bad Teacher‘s Jake Kasdan, it finds a couple who make a…well, you guess it — it goes missing and chaos ensues. The studio will also release their sequel Think Like a Man Too on June 20th, 2014, while Warner Bros. has slightly moved up Wally Pfister‘s Johnny Depp-led Transcendence, for an April 18th, 2014 release.
