It seems that Hollywood just can’t get enough of Jennifer Lawrence, and rightfully so — The Hunger Games star has been cast to lead the romantic drama, Ends of the Earth. Currently an Escape Artists project, Variety has just informed us that The Weinstein Company is in final negotiations to acquire the picture.

Written by Chris Terrio (Argo), as well as based on the lives of Ernest and Lydie Marland, the picture follows the “controversial love affair between an oil baron and his adopted daughter, which destroys the empire they built together.” Lawrence will play Lydie, “an educated, headstrong woman who was adopted as a girl by her aunt Virginia and uncle Ernest. She later becomes their adopted daughter and eventually becomes Ernest’s wife. Urging him to raise workers’ wages and give them unprecedented access to medial care, she earns the nickname the “princess of the prairies.”

Woody Allen jokes notwithstanding, Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch will produce for Escape Artists. And as if you need any reminders on Lawrence‘s past work, she has an Oscar nomination under her belt for her role as Ree in 2010’s Winter’s Bone. As for her upcoming work, she’s heading House at the End of the Street; as well as the dramedy Silver Linings Playbook, not to mention reprising her role as Katniss for the next Hunger Games installment.
