After years of making us laugh in MacGruber, Saturday Night Live and more, 2013 will mark the debut of a more dramatic Will Forte. The actor will star in Alexander Payne‘s The Descendants follow-up Nebraska later this year, but beforehand he’ll be making his first dive into seriousness with Run and Jump. Directed by Steph Green, the film follows “a spirited Irish wife [who] struggles to keep her family members together after a stroke leaves her husband disabled and fundamentally changed. All the while they are under the microscope of an American researcher documenting their recovery process.” Check out the first look of Forte above.

While most audiences will likely know him from The Avengers, and various other Marvel films, Clark Gregg has been keeping busy outside the superhero world. After making his directorial debut with an adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk‘s Choke, he’s now putting the finishing touches on his follow-up, Trust Me. Once again teaming with Sam Rockwell, we’ve now got the first look at the film, featuring Gregg, Amanda Peet and Saxon Sharbino. Check out the images and synopsis below for the film also starring William H. Macy, Felicity Huffman and Allison Janney.

Trust Me follows flailing Hollywood agent Howard, who seemingly strikes gold after signing the next big child star. What results is an unexpected ride through the nasty inner workings of Hollywood, as Howard desperately tries to make it in an industry that has no interest in recognizing his bumbling but ultimately genuine nature.

Tribeca Film Festival 2013 kicks off on April 17th.
