Last month actor Ryan Reynolds gave some news on the announced Deadpool spinoff film. In a recent interview with Empire when asked if Deadpool was going to break the fourth wall like in the comics he stated “Break the fourth wall? Oh yeah, he’s got to. I want to see him break the Great Wall.” He also stated “The studio’s (20th Century Fox) working on a script and trying to find a director. The main goal is to make sure it stays close to the source material.”

For those that don’t know “breaking the fourth wall” is a term used when a character looks into the camera to interact with the audience, usually breaking from the story. Like I said when the story was originally announced I didn’t think Deadpool should break the fourth wall. This isn’t a comedy where breaking the fourth wall is acceptable. In a superhero film I’m afraid breaking the fourth wall may come off as a bit corny.

What do you think about breaking the fourth wall? Would it work in this?
