Celebrated filmmaker Darren Aronofsky tells MTV he is interested in revisting his 2006 masterpiece “The Fountain”:

“It wouldn’t be a ‘director’s cut,’” he said — more like an alternate story told with the addition of unused footage from the first go-round. This would be a complicated project on a couple of levels, though, and it’s at least a few years away.”

I saw The Fountain in theaters and fell in love with it right away. The project first started with Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett but was scrapped and Aronosfky got Jackman and Wiesz to star. For a film that failed at the box office, I find it hard to believe Aronofsky can find the proper funding for this reimagined film. I still have full faith and can’t wait to see where this goes. I look forward to anything Aronofsky does, especially after seeing The Wrestler at the Toronto International Film Festival this year. Check it out when it hits theaters this month.
