Every now and then, Hollywood and the videogame industry collide — especially when it comes to their respective biggest tentpoles. As promised last week, producer David Fincher and director Tim Miller (who has done visual effects works on many films from Where the Wild Things Are to X-Men to Fincher’s Dragon Tattoo) have delivered the launch trailer for Microsoft’s huge Holiday game Halo 4. The impressive two-minute look dives into an area we haven’t previously seen, that of the elusive Master Chief’s past.

But before we get to that — following some news last night on his possible next project, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea — we have a brief update on the continuation of the Millenium series. Speaking with LA Times for his upcoming Skyfall, Dragon Tattoo star Daniel Craig said that he would “embrace” the movie,” especially if Fincher does it. He could potentially even be the convincing factor as he added, “I’m definitely going to work on him.” With Fincher not deciding anything yet, Sony seems to not be in a rush, but hopefully we’ll hear some news soon. In the meantime, check out the trailer below.

Halo 4 arrives on November 6th.
