After enjoying last night’s Toronto International Film Festival premiere of Only Lovers Left Alive, Tom Hiddleston is ready to collaborate with Mia Wasikowska once again, as reports out of the fest indicate the star has lined up a role in Guillermo del Toro‘s Crimson Peak. Replacing fellow UK’er Benedict Cumberbatch, who dropped out a few weeks ago, The Avengers star will also be joining Charlie Hunnam and Jessica Chastain in the horror film.

Scripted by del Toro and Lucinda Coxon, coming from Matthew Robbins‘ original script, not many details are known about the project yet. In the director’s own words, he has said it’s “a ghost story and gothic romance, [that’s] trying to subvert the rules of the usual gothic romance.” Production with the strong ensemble kicks off in February for a likely 2015 release, while Hiddleston can be spotted next in Thor: The Dark World.

Are you happy with the replacement?
