IESB got a chance to talk to 20th Century Fox CEO Tom Rothman who gave some details about another possible Alien installment, with possibly Ridley Scott’s name on it. Rothman stated “some talk”of an Alien prequel”, then he went on and commented on Scott’s possible involvement by saying “I think he’s toying with the idea… and that would be great for us. It’s always been a matter of, really, if you could get the originator to do it.”
The idea of another Alien film doesn’t sound necessary, neither were the AVP movies, but with Ridley Scott’s name on it then it causes interest. It seems weird though that he would go a long with a prequel, considering Sigourney Weaver commented not too long ago about the idea of a sequel. None the less, another Alien movie sounds useless, but if Scott decides he wants to direct then this may actually be a good idea.
