The year of Channing Tatum is firmly upon us, with his romantic drama The Vow and his hilarious comedy 21 Jump Street both reaching over $100 million at the domestic box office. Add in his supporting role in the unfortunately underseen Haywire and that only marks half the films set to hit theaters this year for the stripper-turned-star. One of these upcoming films chronicles those early days, thanks to Steven Soderbergh.

Warner Bros. have just sent over two high-resolution stills from Magic Mike, inspired by Tatum’s real-life experience. The coming-of-age drama also includes an ensemble made up of Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Gabriel Iglesias, Olivia Munn, Riley Keough, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Cody Horn, Adam Rodriguez, Kevin Nash and Betsy Brandt. Check out the images below which feature Tatum in a new stripping outfit and McConaughey racking up some money. Look for the first trailer soon as well.

Synopsis:

Set in the world of male strippers, “Magic Mike” is directed by Steven Soderbergh and stars Channing Tatum (“Dear John,” “Step Up”) in a story inspired by his real life. The film follows Mike (Tatum) as he takes a young dancer called The Kid (Pettyfer) under his wing and schools him in the fine arts of partying, picking up women, and making easy money.

Magic Mike hits theaters on June 29th, 2012, the same day as Tatum’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation.
