It’s always a promising fall when there’s a new Steven Spielberg film on the horizon and after the first trailer, we now have another new one that has landed. Reteaming with Tom Hanks and heading back in time to the Cold War, Bridge of Spies comes from a script by Matt Charman as well as Ethan and Joel Coen. The new trailer, which packs more footage from the intense-looking drama, hails from the U.K. where the film will arrive a few weeks after its U.S. bow.

Set against the backdrop of a series of historic events, the dramatic thriller tells the story of James Donovan, a Brooklyn lawyer who finds himself thrust into the center of the Cold War when the CIA sends him on the near-impossible task to negotiate the release of a captured American U-2 pilot. Also starring Mark Rylance (who leads Spielberg’s recently wrapped The BFG), Scott Shepherd, Amy Ryan, Sebastian Koch, and Alan Alda, check out the trailer below, along with an international poster.

Screenwriters Matt Charman and Ethan Coen & Joel Coen have woven this remarkable experience in Donovan’s life into a story inspired by true events that captures the essence of a man who risked everything and vividly brings his personal journey to life.
