Word has hit the net that The Hobbit has been green-lit for full pre-production by MGM.
The Hobbit is being directed by Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hell Boy, Blade II) and produced by the original Lord of the Rings trilogy director, Peter Jackson. The cult classic will be filmed in 3D starting this coming November with a release date that’s still tentative for December 2012.
