In the first moments of this new featurette for Spike Lee‘s Oldboy, it’s clear those involved want to be crystal clear that the film is an adaptation of the original source material and not a straight-up remake of Park Chan-wook‘s film. But with similar visual cues, we aren’t exactly convinced — still, we’re looking forward to what Josh Brolin, Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley and the rest of the gang have to offer with this enticing new footage.

While one can see featurette below, we’ve also got a treat for fans of the main actor involved. While at TIFF last week, David Poland conducted an extensive interview with Josh Brolin for Labor Day, in which the star not only discusses the failure of Jonah Hex (he originally used High Plains Drifter as a reference point when pitching it), but also his experience on Paul Thomas Anderson‘s Inherent Vice set, which was “absolute f-cking chaos every day, all day.” While the audio quality is a bit dodgy, it can also be seen below.

Oldboy opens on November 27th.
