This Thanksgiving week the wide-release options at the cinema are only family-friendly, and in a rare occurrence, they are all worthwhile. Our very positive Arthur Christmas review will hit this week, and although it has a fair share of problems, The Muppets is ultimately charming. Then there is a new film from Martin Scorsese. Marking his first foray into family film, as well as 3D, he has created a joyous adventure with Hugo.

I shared my thoughts from early last month at the NYFF screening, but I’m eager to check out the finished film next week. To celebrate, we’ve culled together four clips and five new posters, as well as a Q&A with James Cameron, who says it is “absolutely the best 3D photography.” The clips range from our leads dodging the station master, peering out into the Paris skyline, uncovering the past of Ben Kingsley’s character and more. Check them all out below, with the clips in between the new posters and the Q & A first.

Synopsis:

Hugo tells the story of an orphan boy living a secret life in the walls of a Paris train station. With the help of an eccentric girl, he searches for the answer to a mystery linking the father he recently lost, the ill-tempered toy shop owner living below him and a heart shaped lock, seemingly without a key. Based on Brian Selznick’s award winning and imaginative New York Times bestseller, The Invention of Hugo Cabret, this magical tale is Academy Award(R)-winner Martin Scorsese’s first film shot in 3D.

Starring Ben Kingsley, Asa Butterfield, Chloe Grace Moretz, Sacha Baron Cohen, Jude Law, Ray Winstone, Christopher Lee, Helen McCrory, Richard Griffiths, Frances de la Tour, Emily Mortimer and Michael Stuhlbarg, Hugo hits theaters this Wednesday, November 23rd.
