The world’s greatest reunion is coming together. Andrew Dominik, director of one of the greatest films this past decade (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) is re-teaming with stars Brad Pitt and (possibly) Casey Affleck for the heist drama Cogan’s Trade. We can now add another rumored name to the confirmed list. Deadline reports Sam Rockwell is in final negotiations to join.

Pitt will portray Jackie Cogan in the adaptation of George V. Higgins‘ novel. He will play “a professional enforcer who investigates a heist that takes place during a high stakes poker game held under the protection of the mob.” No other roles are set, but we know it is an ensemble piece.

We reported over the holidays that Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Bill Murray, Mark Ruffalo, and Zoe Saldana are also rumored to join the large cast. The original novel is set to Boston, but it looks like shooting will take place in New Orleans inside and one can expect them to go with it and not cover it for the Mass. city. The great news is that production is hoping to roll by March. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
