Ennio Morricone laments the current state of film score composition at The Guardian:
“The standard of composition for film has deteriorated. I have suffered a lot in watching many films because of that. There are some directors who actually fear the possible success of music,” he added. “They fear that the audience or the critics will think the film has worked because there was a very good music score.”

Toronto International Film Festival has reversed its Telluride screening policy, which means more notable films screening during the first weekend, THR reports:
The new decision mostly undoes a controversial 2014 policy that had forced filmmakers and distributors to pick between the two fests. For those that sided with Telluride, their film would not be considered for a Toronto screening during the latter fest’s first four days, when attendance and media coverage are at their height.
