The Mad Max franchise is being given an update with not only one, but two sequels being filmed in 3D back-to-back. George Miller returns and is getting ready for an early 2011 shoot. Bleeding Cool is reporting that Doctor Who actor Noel Clarke has joined the film, but no character details are available yet. He will star alongside Tom Hardy (Bronson, Inception), Zoe Kravitz, Adelaide Clemens, Nicholas Hoult, and Charlize Theron, whom we’ve got new details on via her stunt double.

Annabelle Williams, her double, spoke with ABC (via /Film) and said the following:

They are going to film me from a very long distance for the fighting so that they don’t have to CGI out her arm…I will be her, but just not [in] the face…I’ve been training for about six months with a guy who was in the SAS and trains the military and things.

So, a one-arm Theron next to a ferociously insane Tom Hardy? This just may be one of my most anticipated upcoming films. I recently rewatched Mad Max and forgot how off-the-wall it was. I’m confident Miller can capture the same style.

Mad Max: Fury Road will be released first and the follow-up is titled Mad Max: Furiosa.

Are you a fan of Noel Clarke? What do you think of Theron’s small character detail?
