After showing off some footage at Comic-Con this summer we’ve barely gotten a peep from 20th Century Fox regarding Ridley Scott‘s sci-fi adventure Prometheus. Things are about to change, with a rumored trailer coming soon, and a new batch of images arriving today from Entertainment Weekly via BD.

We finally get our first, honest look at our lead characters including Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba and Logan Marshall-Green. The trio of them look somewhat plasticky, but I look forward to seeing them in motion. The other photos reveal a landscape of eggs and something referred to as the “Ampule Room,” containing a massive head. What does it all mean? Beats me. But hopefully we’ll get our first answers with a trailer. In the meantime, check out the images below for the film also starring Sean Harris, Guy Pearce, Kate Dickie, Rafe Spall,  Benedict Wong, Emun Elliott, Ben Foster and Patrick Wilson.

Update: Entertainment Weekly has a better version of one of the images, which can be seen directly below.

Synopsis:

Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Prometheus hits theaters June 8, 2012.
