Following the Producers Guild of America weighing in our their respective nominations, its time for the Writers Guild of America to take their turn. Always a finicky bunch when it comes to their restrictions for what gets a nod, the WGA has delivered their picks for Original Screenplay, Adapted Screenplay and Documentary Screenplay, complete with a handful of surprises.

While films like Django Unchained, Beasts of the Southern Wild and Les Miserables were all disqualified, they did recognized Rian Johnson‘s sci-fi time-travel thriller Looper, as well as Robert ZemeckisFlight and Stephen Chbosky‘s The Perks of Being a Wallflower, three films that all seemed to be getting overlooked in this awards season. The rest of the contenders follow through as expected and can be seen below.
