When the phrase “A-list” comes to mind the first names that possibly might trigger in your nicely shaped cranium are the delectable Cameron Diaz, the pop-boy Justin Timberlake, and  possibly the oh-so-funny Molly Shannon. Today might or might not be your day. All three money-makers are on board to be cast in the comedy, Bad Teacher. (via The Hollywood Reporter)

Bad Teacher follows a foul-mouthed, gold-digging seventh-grade teacher (Cameron Diaz) who, after being dumped by her boyfriend, sets her sights on a colleague (Lucy Punch) who is dating a substitute teacher (Justin Timberlake) who also is the scion of a watch fortune.” Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family) and Jason Segel (who’s been cast in the supporting role of a gym teacher) also are joining the purposeful cast.

Columbia Pictures President Doug Belgrad said, “We love what we’ve seen of Justin’s performance in David Fincher’s The Social Network and he is a perfect match for this role.” The Social Network comes out October 15th, 2010.

With all the fundamentals aside Bad Teacher has the opportunity to take my hard-earned currency at the box office. But I must make a note: If Jake Kasdan (Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story) wasn’t on board to direct it’d be a totally different story. Check for Bad Teacher in theaters come 2012. Until then, keep playing JT on your iPod to naked thoughts of Cameron Diaz via your nicely shaped craniums.
