If you saw Mabrouk El Mechri‘s excellent actioner JCVD (starring, yes, Jean-Claude Van Damme), then you’ve already had his Hollywood debut The Cold Light of Day on your radar. Starring the Man of Steel himself Henry Cavill, along with Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver, his eye for action returns with this first trailer, and despite some obvious CG, it could be a fun time in the theaters this spring. Cavill looks to hold his own with the big setpieces as well. After a string of duds, it is also nice to see Willis kick off the year strong (with promising turns in Looper and Moonrise Kingdom coming as well). Check out the trailer below.
Synopsis:
A young American (Cavill) uncovers a conspiracy during his attempt to save his family, who were kidnapped while on vacation in Spain.
The Cold Light of Day hits theaters April 6th.
