It may not have any U.S. distribution in sight yet, but today brings a full-length trailer for one of our more anticipated films of the year. Debuting recently at Melbourne International Film Festival to strong reviews, The Turning features 17 different helmers each taking a chapter from Tim Winton‘s novel to form a full-length film. Revealing much more initial teaser, the new look gives us another glimpse at directorial debut of Mia Wasikowska and David Wenham, as well as segments from Snowtown‘s Justin Kurzel and many more.

There’s even more from our ensemble, including Hugo Weaving, Cate Blanchett, Rose Byrne, and Miranda Otto. If one was a fan of last year’s Cloud Atlas, but looking for something a bit more grounded, this one looks to be very much in the same vein. See the teaser below, also featuring directors Jonathan auf der Heide, Tony Ayres, Shaun Gladwell, Ashlee PageStephen Page, Rhys Graham, Ian Meadows, Yaron Lifschitz and Claire McCarthy. One can also check out more stills and the full credits over on the official site.

The Turning hits Australian screens on September 26th, with no U.S. distribution confirmed yet.
