While Christopher Nolan (with the help of physicist Kip Thorne) present some heady ideas in Interstellar, much of the events are wrapped around a generally entertaining blockbuster premise and are only given a handful of conversations to explore. For those looking for more on what’s seen in the film, today we have a pair of television specials that go deeper into the theories presented and their real-life applications as well.

The first, titled The Science of Interstellar, runs 40 minutes and with the help of Matthew McConaughey’s narration, opens up with space-time theories then jumps to their use in the film and how Nolan and crew implemented them, detailing wormholes and more. Going across the pond, we then have the 20-minute Sky TV special Interstellar: Nolan’s Odyssey, which looks more strictly at the filmmaker and the production, with interviews from the cast. If you plan to head into theaters again this weekend to see the space adventure, check out both specials below (courtesy of Movies.com and Indiewire) and for more on the film listen to our in-depth discussion here.

Interstellar is now in wide release.
