After a few set backs over the past year, Thor: The Dark World is finally going strong, deep into production, with a batch of good news. This time, it comes in the form of two new cast members. According to Deadline, Richard Brake and Clive Russell have been set in the newest installment to the superhero franchise.

As we know the sequel will be directed by Alan Taylor, with Don Payne and Robert Rodat providing the script. Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgard and Kat Dennings will all be reprising their roles for the second installment as well.

Brake has come aboard as “a captain in the elite Einherjar, a warrior team that in the mythology fought alongside Thor on numerous occasions.” Russell will be playing the role of “Tyr, the older brother of Thor and Asgard’s god of war. Unlike Thor’s evil brother Loki, Tyr is a natural son of Odin.”

As for past performances, Brake played Joe Chill, the junky who killed Bruce Wayne’s parents in Batman Begins. He is currently filming The Counselor, alongside Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt and Cameron Diaz. Russell has had some success on the TV front, as he just joined the third season of Game of Thrones as Ser Brynden the Blackfish. He was also featured in the Sherlock Holmes films.

Thor 2 will hit theaters November 8th, 2013.
