Following this year’s The Unknown Known, which is just hitting the festival circuit, Errol Morris will be jumping back into the narrative realm with a thriller titled Holland, Michigan. First reported on this summer, the film has now landed its star, as THR lets us know Naomi Watts will lead the Fargo-esque project, playing an wife who starts an affair of she suspects her husband is cheating, only to learn that her significant other is a serial killer. Production kicks off in April.

Moving over to a true murder story, the prolific Michael Winterbottom has been putting together the pieces on The Face of an Angel, based on the controversial Italian trial and conviction of American student Amanda Knox. Collider report that he’s now found a lead after Colin Firth dropped out, as Rush and Inglorious Basterds star Daniel Brühl has joined, playing a journalist investigating the events.

In other casting news, Josh Boone‘s adaptation of The Fault in Our Stars is currently shooting with Shailene Woodley in the lead, but we’re now getting a few new names being added to the ensemble. Co-star Ansel Elgort has now revealed on Twitter that Willem Dafoe will be taking the role of Dr. Peter Van Houten, while comedian Mike Birbiglia has also joined in an undisclosed role. Scripted by The Spectacular Now‘s Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, the project follows a teenage girl, stricken with cancer who falls for a boy in her support group and the two form a bond as they deal with their illnesses. Expect a release next year for the drama.

Lastly, Christina Hendricks has found a co-star for her upcoming feature film A Book of Common Prayer, adapted from Joan Didion‘s novel. Set to be directed by Campbell Scott, Variety reports that Allison Janney has joined the film following a woman, Charlotte Douglas (Hendricks), hoping to reunite with her daughter in Central America. Janney will play an anthropologist, with the story actually told from her point-of-view.
