With his latest film, Trainwreck, arriving in less than a month and his new book out, it means Judd Apatow has been taking on an extensive press tour — and, on this occasion, we’ve been afforded a few excellent opportunities to learn more about his experience in the world of comedy and filmmaking. After recently stopping by Marc Maron and Pete Holmes‘ shows, one can listen to extensive conversations with the writer-director. We also have a new trailer for and first clip from Trainwreck, which follows Amy Schumer‘s character living a life in New York dealing with unrealistic romantic expectations.

As we said in our review, “Yes, this is a comedy, and it occasionally paints with broad strokes, but it’s written and directed by two highly intelligent people that have an insight into our society that clearly informs the narrative. The duo, with wonderful, star-turning performances and a raw honesty to their credit, should rightfully find themselves with a hit come this summer.” Also featuring Bill Hader, Brie Larson, Colin Quinn, John Cena, Tilda Swinton, LeBron James, Daniel Radcliffe, Ezra Miller, Barkhad Abdi, and what’s sure to be many more cameos, check out the conversations, trailer, and clip below.

Pete Holmes:

Marc Maron:

Since she was a little girl, it’s been drilled into Amy’s (Schumer) head by her rascal of a dad (Colin Quinn) that monogamy isn’t realistic. Now a magazine writer, Amy lives by that credo—enjoying what she feels is an uninhibited life free from stifling, boring romantic commitment—but in actuality, she’s kind of in a rut. When she finds herself starting to fall for the subject of the new article she’s writing, a charming and successful sports doctor named Aaron Conners (Bill Hader), Amy starts to wonder if other grown-ups, including this guy who really seems to like her, might be on to something.
