After The Avengers brought together Marvel superheroes with enormous box office results, it’s now time for Warner Bros. to attempt to do the same. The studio plans to square off against Joss Whedon‘s The Avengers sequel in 2015 (not to mention Star Wars: Episode VII and Avatar 2, if all goes according to plan) and now we have word on who Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash and perhaps more will be fighting.

According to Latino Review (who also broke word of The Avengers villain, not to mention many other superhero-related bits), they will have to face off against the villain Darkseid, described as a “supreme monarch of the planet Apokolips and the greatest threat to the DC Universe.” As The Avengers gang fights off Thanos next (as revealed in their post-credit scene), it’s interesting to see this group take on another mammoth powerhouse, but it certainly make sense that this group of heroes will need a worthy fight. With WB hopefully announcing a director soon, check back for more updates on what’s shaping up to be the popcorn-filled summer of 2015.
