With release date news of Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller‘s upcoming sequel to their 2005 hit, one has to assume the filmmaker is shooting his next two films pretty much back-to-back. He will first gear up this summer on Machete Kills, with a cast that includes Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Demián Bichir, Mel Gibson, Amber Heard and Sofia Vergara.
Following that he’ll return to the mostly black-and-white world for Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, bringing back Michael Madsen, Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson. He’ll also go on a search to add many new people to the franchise, but for now we have a release date. In a press release, the company have announced they’ll unleash the film on October 4th, 2013, with its only competition currently being Henry Selick‘s next film.
In other release date news, The Weinsteins have also switched Lawless yet again. First it was late 2011, then April 20th, then August 31st. Now it’s been shifted just two days and will hit on Wednesday, August 29th. Hopefully it will be the last time for John Hillcoat‘s film set to premiere at Cannes this week. Starring Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Jason Clarke, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska, Gary Oldman and Guy Pearce, one can see the trailer here if you missed it.
Are you looking forward to the Sin City sequel?
