One of the most talked about films at this year’s Cannes film festival has been Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Biutiful, dividing critics and press after the initial screenings. The film stars Javier Bardem in what is sure to be another pivotal landmark role in his already legendary career. He plays a drug addict involved in illegal activity suffering from cancer whose life changes when an old childhood friend, now a police officer, confronts him about his erratic lifestyle. It is Iñárritu’s first film in his native Spanish language since his debut feature Amores perros.
