After waxing poetic about the B-movie thrills and genuine vision Jaume Collet-Serra brings to his films, I admit feeling a little vindicated when he finally earned some much-deserved acclaim for his Blake Lively-led shark thriller The Shallows, by the far the best summer blockbuster of last year. But it was only missing one thing: Liam Neeson.

Following Unknown, Non-Stop, and Run All Night, the duo have now reunited for The Commuter. Riffing once again on Alfred Hitchcock and bringing along his Orphan star Vera Farmiga for the ride, the film presents Neeson’s character with a question of morality: for $75,000, will he uncover a person with seemingly evil intentions on his train?

We can’t wait to find out, but watching the first trailer below, it looks like we already know the answer.

Update: See a second trailer below.

The Commuter blesses us on January 12, 2018.
