Regardless of how one might feel about his films, there’s no denying Gore Verbinski‘s visual eye. After his Johnny Depp collaborations with the Pirates of the Caribbean sequels, Rango, and The Lone Ranger, the director is finally returning to the horror genre early next year with A Cure for Wellness. Led by Dane DeHaan, Mia Goth and Jason Isaacs, a new international trailer has now arrived from South Korea which runs just a minute, but has more distinct imagery than virtually the entire 2016 blockbuster slate combined.

Following a CEO who heads to a treatment center in the Swiss Alps, audiences at the 18th annual Butt-Numb-a-Thon in Austin this past weekend were treated to the premiere of the film. While full reviews are embargoed until closer to its February release, the response was strong (i.e. it’s creepy as hell with comparisons to Shutter Island and the films of David Fincher and Park Chan-wook). With the film arriving just a week after John Wick 2, 2017 is spoiling us already.

Check out the new trailer below along with a round-up of reactions.

Update: See a new full-length trailer below.

An ambitious young executive is sent to retrieve his company’s CEO from an idyllic but mysterious “wellness center” at a remote location in the Swiss Alps. He soon suspects that the spa’s miraculous treatments are not what they seem. When he begins to unravel its terrifying secrets, his sanity is tested, as he finds himself diagnosed with the same curious illness that keeps all the guests here longing for the cure. From Gore Verbinski, the visionary director of THE RING, comes the new psychological thriller, A CURE FOR WELLNESS.
