From Live For Films: Wim Wenders’ upcoming 3D semi-documentary now has a trailer – and it’s exceedingly odd, not unlike most of the great German’s films, from his masterpiece Wings of Desire to the non-confrontational Western Paris, Texas to his Cuban-music-history-lesson documentary, Buena Vista Social Club.
According to the man himself, Pina – Dance, Dance, Otherwise We Are Lost is “an homage to the famous German choreographer renowned for giving dance a new language, and a deep bow to the beauty she released into the world.” Right on.
For every American who has no idea what any of this is all about, Pina Bausch was a German modern dance choreographer and a leading influence in the Tanztheater style of dance. (Wikipedia)
