Twilight fans rejoice! A first look at the third film installment to Stephenie Meyer’s wildly popular Twilight series has just appeared online. Check out the teaser trailer for Eclipse below or over at Yahoo in HD.
Eclipse picks up where New Moon left off, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between Edward and Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.
The trailer only gives us a glimpse of the film but from what is shown it is clear that like the books, the romantic thread is the predominant storyline whilst the threat of the dangerous vampires is merely a sideplot to keep things moving. This will bode well for fans who will be looking to see how Bella (Kristen Stewart) makes her choice between vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and werewolf Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). The cinematography looks pretty spectacular with some great location shots being used but there is a strange dimness that might just have to do with the special effects they have yet to complete.
It’s too easy to judge the actors by this snippet of their performances in the trailer, but Pattinson and Lautner don’t look like they have upped their game since the last movie. Kristen Stewart, however, fits comfortably in her role as Bella. In any case Eclipse is the better of Meyer’s books and with any luck director David Slade will take advantage of its tense build up toward its tentative conclusion.
