Two-time Oscar winner Sean Penn and up-and-coming heartthrob Robert Pattinson are linked to the adaptation of the bestseller Water For Elephants. [Variety]
They will be joining Reese Witherspoon for Fox 2000‘s adaptation of the novel about a depression era veterinarian who takes to the road with a travelling circus. Pattinson would play the vet, while Penn would play the role of the abusive animal trainer.
Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend) will direct the film and Richard LaGravenese will write.
