We don’t often feature fan-made art here, but we’ll make an exception for a new gorgeous poster series by Julian Rentzsch. Featuring Martin Scorsese, Alfred Hitchcock, and David Lynch (and more to come, which you can vote for here), the black-and-white portraits provide a rendering of the director, one of their famous quotes, iconic images from their filmography, and a rundown of their career.

Now available for purchase (each for a little over $100 with shipping, but only 200 are being made), I imagine any major fan of the respective filmmaker will want one of these on their wall. As we await to see who Rentzsch tackles next, check out the portraits (and an explanation) below, go behind-the-scenes here, pick them up here, and see more work from Rentzsh here.

This portrait illustrates the creative grandmaster behind the scenes enlaced with references from his work within the history of cinematography. It is the remarkable drawing and illustration skills of Julian Rentzsch, both analogue and digital, the skillfully set typography and an extraordinarily beautiful cotton paper stock which could truly turn this print into an absolute favorite, not only for hardcore cineasts.
