While the full line-up won’t be unveiled until April 16th, the 2015 Cannes Film Festival has announced its first official title today. Mad Max: Fury Road will premiere in an out-of-competition slot of May 14th. Directed by George Miller, U.S. audiences won’t have wait very long to see it, as it’ll be released the following day here, but this addition should help to kick things off with a bang as it’ll be the second day of the festival.

Featuring Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, and more, the film recently nabbed and R rating for “intense sequences of violence throughout, and for disturbing images,” which should please those anticipating it, including us. As we await the premiere in under two month, check out a new Japanese trailer for the film below, along with the official synopsis.

Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
