/Film has alerted us to a new production photo (above, featuring George Clooney) for Anton Corbijn‘s upcoming thriller The American. The photo was released via the film’s official facebook page which can be found by clicking here.
This new photo comes recently after Corbijn revealed that his film was going to be making a round of test screenings. Well, the director has updated his blog over at Focus Features, saying that the test screenings are going pretty well so far and that they’ve even convinced him to take another look at the film’s ending. Don’t worry, he makes sure to keep it spoiler-free:
Survived the test screening in New Jersey, just about. We only had 4 walkouts which is not bad. If i had shown CONTROL there i think there would have been a lot more people heading for the door. As it is, i will continue editing, starting again today, Easter monday.
Wish it was raining, makes it so much easier to go into the darkness of the edit suite. I’m going to look at the ending of the film and make sure it is understood by more people. No way i’m going to let you in on the actual ending so you will have to wait and see. Or wait longer and go and see the sequel, in 3D of course.
That’s all for now, but this film has really peaked my interest, and I’ll be sure to keep my eye on it. The American will be released on September 1st.
