Whenever I thought of Dirty Harry, the first thing that always came to mind was Ice Cube. And now it seems like David O. Russell and I are sharing the same brain. Deadline is reporting that the Three Kings collaborators are working with New Line to create a brand new franchise that’s a “thematic throwback” to Clint Eastwood’s famous character.
Ice Cube would star as “a plainclothes detective who’s quick on the trigger in an R-rated raw drama.” Russell and Cube would both produce with a chance that the former could re-write but it isn’t likely. The director is busy promoting The Fighter and has the Vince Vaughn-starrer Old St. LouisUncharted: Drake’s Fortune as well as the adaptation.
