With Clint Eastwood skipping out on the film festival circuit this year for J. Edgar, we’ve been anticipating any first official look at the biopic drama. It has now arrived via Entertainment Weekly’s fall preview and features our lead Leonardo DiCaprio as J. Edgar Hoover. It may be the fact that I just rewatched Martin Scorsese‘s The Aviator last night, but I’m getting strong vibes from that film with his look and the overall production design. I hope he repeats success and the film is just as strong as his performance will likely be.

Synopsis:

“J. Edgar” explores the public and private life of one of the most powerful, controversial and enigmatic figures of the 20th century. As the face of law enforcement in America for almost fifty years, J. Edgar Hoover (DiCaprio) was feared and admired, reviled and revered. But behind closed doors, he held secrets that would have destroyed his image, his career and his life.

J. Edgar hits theaters November 9th, 2011.
