Since any New York cinephile has a nearly suffocating wealth of theatrical options, we figured it’d be best to compile some of the more worthwhile repertory showings into one handy list. Displayed below are a few of the city’s most reliable theaters and links to screenings of their weekend offerings — films you’re not likely to see in a theater again anytime soon, and many of which are, also, on 35mm. If you have a chance to attend any of these, we’re of the mind that it’s time extremely well-spent.

Metrograph

“Welcome to Metrograph: A to Z” has a packed weekend with a slate that includes Alain ResnaisJe t’aime, je t’aime, Nicholas Ray‘s The Lusty Men, Jackie Brown, and, yes, Jackass 3D.

Baumbach & Paltrow‘s De Palma plays with a Jim McBride feature on Saturday and two De Palma shorts on Sunday.

Greek icon Theo Angelopoulos is celebrated in an overdue, career-spanning retrospective that starts this Friday with Landscape in the Mist. Saturday and Sunday bring Alexander the Great and The Traveling Players, respectively.

Anthology Film Archives

Ken JacobsTwo Wrenching Departures and Ontic Antics screen on Friday, while Tom, Tom, The Pipers’ Son plays this Sunday. The latter day also brings two shortfilm programs.

Nitehawk Cinema

Last Tango In Paris (on 35mm) and Car Wash have midnight showings on Friday and Saturday.

Jumanji and Blue Jasmine screen before noon on Saturday and Sunday.

i_vitelloniIFC Center

A print of Fellini‘s I Vitelloni plays before noon.

Alien, Fight Club, Hausu, and Starship Troopers screen at midnight.

Museum of Modern Art

The Naomi Kawase retrospective continues.

Sunshine Cinema

Mulholland Dr. has midnight showings.
