clifton I recently interviewed Clifton Collins Jr. to talk about his role in next month’s The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day. Later on during the interview I asked him what else is he working on and he mentioned that he may be a part of Yucatan which was the last screenplay the legendary Steve McQueen wrote. As for Quentin Tarantino’s part in this, Collins mentioned that he would be the best choice as a director. He doesn’t say Tarantino is involved, but it seemed as if he was implying that there’s definitely been talks of bringing Quentin on board. Here is what Collins had to say:

Clifton Collins Jr.:  I was talking to Lance Sloan the other day who is Steve McQueen’s godson, him and Chad McQueen have the rights to Yucatan which was the last screenplay Steve wrote. So we’ve been talking about that and how Quentin [Tarantino] would be good to direct that.

Are you looking to get involved in that?

Clifton Collins Jr.: Yeah! They want me to get involved with that alright. You know my grandpa did two episodes of Wanted: Dead or Alive with McQueen so I used to hear all these McQueen stories from my grandpa which was always fun to hear. So now to have a chance to jam with his son and his godson and do something like this… Who else better to pick who would honor the integrity of something written by McQueen than Quentin Tarantino?

What do you think of this potential project?

Check back for the full interview in the coming weeks.
