bastards-1

After being a go-to cinematographer for a good amount of today’s comedies (The Hangover trilogy, I Love You, Man, Garden State), Lawrence Sher has now taken a different gig behind the camera: director. His debut as a helmer will be arriving early next year with Bastards, teaming two of his past collaborators, Ed Helms and Owen Wilson.

The Warner Bros. comedy follows them as brothers who only recently figured out their father in fact didn’t die when they were young, as their mother (Glenn Close) told them, but is alive and well, although unknown to them. With J.K. Simmons and Terry Bradshaw playing potential fathers, the first trailer has now landed, which sells about as decent of a comedy as we can expect to receive in the early months of the year.

Check out the trailer below.

Bastards opens on January 27, 2017.
