Jennifer Aniston has never really been able to carry a movie on her own. Her attempts (Derailed, Rumor Has It…, Picture Perfect, The Object Of My Affection) have paid back diminishing returns. When she teams up with a male star, however (Bruce Almighty, Along Came Polly, Marley and Me), she’s usually golden.

The actress is now tapped to co-star the Judd Apatow-produced, David Wain/Ken Marino-penned film Wanderlust, starring Paul Rudd. She’ll take on the film after she’s done with the Seth Gordon-directed comedy Horrible Bosses (with Jaime Foxx, potentially Colin Farrell, Charlie Day and Jason Bateman).

Wanderlust concerns “a married couple trying to escape the trappings of the city life for a counterculture existence.” Shooting will start this fall. [Deadline Hollywood]

Sounds a lot like a lot of movies, but with Rudd, Apatow, Marino and Wain at the helm (and Aniston to help with ticket sales) it might just work.

Are you excited for Wanderlust?
