After giving Greta Gerwig, Andrew Garfield, and Spike Jonze work (again) — as well as getting a legion of fans to watch a Palme d’Or winner — Arcade Fire have once again embraced the cinematic medium. The band have, in an appropriate bit of timing, made the online debut for Festi, a new short film that screened during some of their shows on the Reflektor tour.

Created during their 2011 tour for The Suburbs and directed by Noreen Bauble, it follows the ghost of Doors frontman Jim Morrison (portrayed by the band’s Tim Kingsbury) as he terrorizes Arcade Fire’s members, namely Will Butler. With some fun kills and inventive visual touches, Festi looks like it made for an entertaining side project during one of their extensive trips. Featuring The National, Terry Gilliam, the band themselves, and more (including a special thanks to Terrence Malick and Neil Young), check it out below, along with the Midnight Marauder-designed poster.
