Woody Allen‘s next picture, Midnight in Paris, will open the 64th Cannes Film Festival next month, but per usual he is already planning his following film. We know Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page, Alec Baldwin and Penelope Cruz will be in the Rome-set film, but not much else. In an interview with Le Journal du dimanche (via The Playlist) we now know the title will be The Wrong Picture. The film will start filming begin production this summer.
In related news, Penelope Cruz has added another project to her slate. 24 Frames reports the actress, after reteaming with Woody Allen, may reunite with Italian director Sergio Castellitto. The duo collaborated on Don’t Move in 2004 and the upcoming film will be a war tale titled Venuto al Mondo. Cruz plays “a single mother who brings her teenage son to Sarajevo, where the boy’s father died during the Balkan War.” Cruz said the following regarding the project:
I like that it’s a movie that’s not Spanish or English. I love this part of the job that lets you become someone else with a different nationality. I guess I have to start studying Italian again.
Midnight in Paris will hit limited theaters May 20th, 2011, the same day you can see Cruz in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
What do you think about these two projects?
