Although he has considerable experience in the world of comic book movies with The Dark Knight Rises, the post-Nolan world of superheroes is quite a different landscape, yet Tom Hardy has found a way in, this time as an antihero. He’s leading Venom, playing the titular character/Eddie Brock, and today the first trailer has landed ahead of a fall release.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer, who is looking for a comeback after Gangster Squad, has assembled quite a cast, also including Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate, Woody Harrelson, and Riz Ahmed. The first preview teases some action setpieces without revealing all that much, nor even a reveal of Hardy in full, dark regalia. Check it out below, along with the teaser poster.
