The teaser trailer for Xavier Dolan’s Les Amours Imaginaires has been released in anticipation of its debut at Cannes where it compete in the Un Certain Regard category. Although the trailer is brief it quickly announces itself as a film of fashionable beauty and love. We can see already that the costume designs are exquisite, and the cinematography imaginative. Hopefully this just a sample of what will be depicted throughout the entire film.
What it lacks is an engagement with the plot details, but that will probably get an explanation in a longer trailer. For now the basic details but deeply complicated storyline is of a love triangle between two friends, Francis and Mary, who fall in love with the same guy.

Les Amours Imaginaires will open in Canada on June 11th. There is no U.S. distributor lined up at this time.
