As the crisis in the Middle East rages on, a new documentary takes a specific look at the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through the journey of one man. The Green Prince, coming from director Nadav Schirman, premiering at Sundance Film Festival earlier this year where it picked up the Audience Award for World Documentary, and now ahead of a release next month, the theatrical trailer has arrived.

The story centers on Mosab Hassan Yousef, who was the son of a major Hamas leader and as a teenager was a source for a top Israel secret security service, Shin Bet. Spying for over ten years, the film looks back at his tale and its effects on those around him. The trailer sells an incredibly tense film and it’s no surprise there’s already plans underway to give it the narrative film treatment. Check out the trailer below, along with the poster.

Set against the chaotic backdrop of recent events in the Middle East, Nadav Schirman’s THE GREEN PRINCE retraces the details of a highly unprecedented partnership that developed between sworn enemies. In the style of a tense psychological thriller, this extraordinary documentary recounts the true story of the son of a Hamas leader who emerged as one of Israel’s prized informants, and the Shin Bet agent who risked his career to protect him.
