Re-teaming with writer Diablo Cody after their successful Juno, Jason Reitman‘s fourth feature, Young Adult, is set to hit right in the midst of Oscar season (continuing his pattern of putting out a film every two years). Although it skipped the major film festivals, the marketing has got off to a good start, with a promising trailer released about a month ago.

Now, three new 30 second clips have arrived, showing off a slightly darker humor than Reitman‘s previous films. Personally, I’m looking forward to it a great deal, being an avid fan of the filmmaker’s previous work — and I also want to see if Cody can redeem herself after Jennifer’s Body. The clips (all three of which feature a portion of Bowie‘s indispensable “Queen Bitch”) have debuted at Moviefone, Apple, and PerezHilton; you can check them out below via RopeofSilicon:

Synopsis:

Academy Award(R) winner Charlize Theron plays Mavis Gary, a writer of teen literature who returns to her small hometown to relive her glory days and attempt to reclaim her happily married high school sweetheart (Patrick Wilson). When returning home proves more difficult than she thought, Mavis forms an unusual bond with a former classmate (Patton Oswalt) who hasn’t quite gotten over high school, either.

Starring Charlize Theron, Patton Oswalt, Patrick Wilson, and Elizabeth Weaser, Young Adult opens on December 9th.

What do you think of these three clips? Are you looking forward to Young Adult?
