Can’t get an Academy-Award nominated actor for the lead role in your movie? Well, just cast a former Abercrombie and Fitch model and you’re good!
Jeremy Renner has decided to turn down the lead role in Peter Berg‘s Battleship movie and now it appears that future John Carter of Mars, Taylor Kitsch, will be taking the mantle (via Heat Vision). I personally have only seen him in X-Men Origins : Wolverine (where he made little impression) but I’ve heard good things about his work on the television version of Friday Night Lights so I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Battleship will hit theaters on May 25th, 2012.
