Variety reported today that the new Spider-Man film is receiving a rewrite from Seabiscuit scribe Gary Ross. Seabiscuit also starred Toby Maguire so Ross should have a good idea for who he is writing the part for. Director Sam Raimi is set to return and Columbia Pictures along with Marvel Studios are set to put the film into production next year.
This is great news for the Spider-Man franchise. I can’t wait to see what Ross comes up with and that fact that all the key players (Raimi, Maguire) are set to return give this film the best chance for success.
